Eine gute und gewöhnlich preiswerteste Alternative zum Hotel sind Holiday Apartments. Die Preise dieser Apartments sind sehr ähnlich wie bei den 2 oder 3Sterne Hotels. Es handelt sich um einen neuen Trend, viele Touristen bevorzugen diese Unterkunft Einrichtung vor klassischen Hotels. Die Unterkunft in Apartments wird vor allem von Familien mit Kindern und großen Gruppen aufgesucht. Einige Holiday Apartments und Wohnungen nehmen bis zu 12 Personen auf, diese Art von Unterkunft schätzen auch große Gruppen, welche „unter einem Dach“ unterkommen möchten. Apartments sind gewöhnlich auch mit einer Küche mit Kochmöglichkeit, Kühlschrank, Fernseher und in vielen Fällen auch Internetanschluss ausgestattet. Die meisten gewähren keine Rezeption oder Zimmerservice. Auf die andere Seite werden sie bestimmt mehr Privatheit haben. Ein kleiner Nachteil ist, dass es in den meisten Fällen notwendig ist vor der Ankunft die Schlüssel in einer Kanzlei abzuholen und sich zu registrieren und bei der Abfahrt die Schlüssel wieder abzugeben.

Das liegt daran, weil Betten mit zwei Einzelmatratzen, die zusammengeschoben wurden, üblicher sind als eine Doppelmatratze. Oberbetten, Laken und Bettbezüge verfügen über seltsame Größen. Die Maße für das Bettzeug für eine Einzelmatratze belaufen sich auf etwa 200 x 80, 90, oder 100 cm; für zwei Einzelmatratzen, die zusammengeschoben sind, betragen die Maße 200 x 160, 180, oder 200 cm.
